“And all at once…His face seemed to be a tossing sea of gold in which they seemed to be floating, and such a sweetness and power rolled about them and over them that they felt they had never really been happy or wise or good, or even alive and awake, before. And the memory of that moment stayed with them always, so that as long as they both lived, if ever they were sad or afraid or angry, the thought of all that golden goodness, and the feeling that it was still there, quite close , just around some corner or just behind some door, would come back and make them sure, deep down inside, that all was well.” The Magicians Nephew. C.S.Lewis.
One encounter with God is enough. BUT GOD has seen to it that we can encounter Him every moment of every day. His “golden Goodness” has been secured for us by the blood of Jesus .
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” 2 Corinthians 5:18
The ‘all this ” is a new creation. “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!“2 Corinthians 5:17
Celebrate every morning, the new you, the sweetness and power of our God who keeps His promises and thank Him that the old life has gone and a new life has begun.
SEEK Devotional Day 6
“Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him… He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.” Hosea 6:3
I have been a follower of Jesus for 36 years and in that betrothal there has been better and worse, sickness and health, richer and poorer, life and death, joy, sorrow. Eternity has dug deep in my heart because there is an eldest son, my only sibling, my only nephew and my dad waiting for me in His presence. Jesus is my anchor in heaven, yet sometimes, it is my loved ones already there that keep me pressing into Him . Day after day, heart-ache after heart-ache, because I know His love.. And in the meantime there is still “joy unspeakable and full of glory” in our ever increasing family and the richness of the Body of Christ.
How can we know the Lord…ask Him.
How do we press into Him…seek Him, fervently.
“Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him”…and
“He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn…”
“…or the coming of rains in early spring.” Hosea 6:3
Be blessed as you pursue Him with your whole heart…better or worse, sickness and health, life and death, joy and sorrow…and He will lift you up..higher and higher.
SEEK DEVOTION Day 5 “My grace is sufficient for you” 2 Corinthians 12:9
I can not make His rain fall, but I can extend my hands to feel His love.
I am not responsible for the rain, but I am responsible to reach out.
SEEK Devotional Day 4
” For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
The story so far… Jesus gives us His advice for our lives, “remain in my Love”. Why? Because His Love may be “patient and kind” and all those other lovely things, but mine is a wavering and beleaguered romantic notion that, yes, has aspirations to the Divine, but also has delusions of grandeur. Given that we will have tribulation and suffering in this world, our survival depends on being in His presence. Our ability to ‘do good works’ with ‘the fulness of joy’ He offers instead of remaining in the fire swamp to take our chances, depends on knowing that just as we are fashioned by His hand, so is the work that He has for us to do. Custom made, fitting like a glove. You can do it because He designed you to do it.
Synchronicity is a wondrous thing. Just as I was writing about being in His presence, Steffany Frizzell-Gretzinger began singing “the more I seek You” worship song via i-Bethel TV and I heard again where we live our lives
When I “sit at Your feet…drink from the cup in Your hand…lay back against You and breathe and hear your heart beat”…I have all I need. You do, indeed, make me brave to do what You have designed me to do, with all the love and joy and peace which is the Kingdom of God . It’s in my DNA.
